The Lord releases people from bondage as He heals their wounded hearts and pain from trauma. There is no denying we live in a broken and messy world. Jesus died so we could be free. As a teenager, I pondered my purpose and searched for ways to alleviate nagging anxiety. In my early twenties, I met someone who introduced me to the Holy Spirit. Gone were my constant companions--fear and worry. I now had a relationship with the Lord, who loved and comforted me. I wish I could say it has been smooth sailing since then. But it was not. Challenges arose―broken relationships, illness, and disappointment. I soon found myself again trying to fix these problems in my strength.
